Next Gig

Saturday 12th December 2015

Barrelhouse Blues Orchestra

The BBO returns to the Exchange, Sturminster Newton, on Saturday 12th December, 2015. This is the first time the big band has appeared since the summer of 2013. The line up has changed, the songs have changed, but the excitement remains the same.

We are really pleased to welcome some new faces to the BBO, especially our new drummer, Adrian Millward who many will know from his work with Ben Waters and Bill Wyman. Singer and guitarist Chris Williams (late of ABB).
Mark Skerritt (keyboards) and Jack Shaughnessy (bass) are well known faces in the area and have long had an association with both Paul Hart and the local music scene.
Singer Rebecca Chambers (Ruby Slippers) is with us for the first time, and will be soloing on a couple of songs.
Its also great to have one of the countries finest sax players, Clive Ashley, back with us after a few years.
For the first time since the BBO recorded the Album ‘On my mind’ with the BBC at Pebble Mill in 2003, we welcome back the full string trio of Chas Dickie, Lucy-Ann Allen and Aiden Fisher. Great to have all three together again for the first time on a live gig.
We have also re-vamped the set list this year, which we hope will bring a freshness to the proceeding. Songs from Etta James, Beth Hart/Joe Bonamassa, BB King, Eric Clapton, The Stones, Staple Singers, Fleetwoood Mac, Seal, Stevie Wonder, Crusaders, Tower of Power, Players Association, Tina Turner and the Blues Brothers.
